A demoted soccer goalkeeper rocks a small Spanish town during the political upheaval of the Franco dictatorship. Formerly a regular player in the major leagues, Ramiro Forteza (Carmelo Gomez) is now reduced to making public appearances and demonstrations. After arriving in Asturias, he meets a stunning villager, Manuela (Maribel Verdu, Y TU MAMA TAMBIEN), and her son Tito (Adrian Ramirez). Ramiro and Manuela begin a love affair.
