After winning a game, card shark Pedro is assaulted on the street by the losing players. Though their faces were obscured, he recognized one of the men and manages to wound him. Later, he sees the wounded man with a young boy crying beside him. The crying boy watches his father die, and Pedro takes the boy under his wing.
