Similar to the 2003 Brazilian drama CITY OF GOD, this Argentinean film offers a disquieting portrait of gang life in Argentina. As Buenos Aires sinks deeper into poverty, a pregnant young girl decides she`s had enough of the gang life and attempts to leave the crime-strewn streets behind her. Her fellow gang member and boyfriend also tries to leave, after pulling off one last robbery. But as keen-eyed cinemagoers know,

usually spells doom, and as PIZZA, BEER AND SMOKES careers towards a turbulent conclusion, it seems the gang life isn`t as easy to escape from as some may think.
