Shot in 1963, this film was the first German movie to focus on the terrible conditions inside concentration camps during WWII. In Frank Beyer`s bittersweet tale, a prisoner smuggles a young boy into Auschwitz. Though the lad`s exuberance is welcomed by his fellow prisoners, they remain fearful that the Nazi guards will discover him.
