Daniel (Moritz Bleibtreu, DAS EXPERIMENT, RUN LOLA RUN) is a shy and lovelorn science teacher in Hamburg, Germany. Juli (Christiane Paul) is a dread-locked, free-spirited Hamburg street vendor. They cross paths when Juli sells Daniel a sun-inscribed ring and tells him he will soon fall in love with a woman wearing a similar symbol--with the secret hope that she herself will be that woman. But before Juli can fully orchestrate her romantic plans, Daniel meets a beautiful Turkish tourist and determines to follow her to Istanbul.
