Thai horror maestros Oxide and Danny Pang follow up their hit 2002 film with a sequel that equals the chills and creepy mise-en-scene of the first. Qi Shu (MILLENIUM MAMBO) stars as Joey Cheng, a troubled young woman who is pregnant with the child of the boyfriend who just dumped her. On holiday in Bangkok, she makes a suicide attempt in her hotel room, but is foiled by her wake-up call. Something was altered in her close contact with death, however, and returning home to Hong Kong, the realization slowly dawns on Joey that the wraith-like people she now sees everywhere are actually deceased. This knowledge does not sit well with Joey, and as she descends further and further into her own torment, she attempts to reconnect with her ex-boyfriend Sam (Jesdaporn Pholdee), who seems to be hiding some kind of secret. The Pang Brothers` characteristically excellent cinematography infuses THE EYE 2 with atmospheric foreboding, and Qi Shu hands in an outsanding performance as the haunted expectant mother.

A documentarian known for his insolent and inciting penchant for exposing the bourgeois prejudice of the Viennese middle classes, Ulrich Seidl does so by putting the mundane and inhibited regimentation of their lives on display. Seidl`s work manages to reflect the ways that individuals manage to cope with life through self-delusion in a way that is often surreal, sometimes tragic, and always provocative. In this 1995 documentary, the filmmaker delves into the lives of pet owners whose love for their animals replaces--or displaces--their need for human affection, intimacy, and warmth. Filming in a characteristically painterly manner that deviates considerably from the familiar tropes of documentary filmmaking, which is traditionally marked by a shaky camera, Ulrich trains the camera on his subjects in a way that gives rise to a Brechtian critical distance. Thus breaking down the boundaries between documentary and fiction film, he is able to create considerable unease in his audiences, augmented by the often grotesque nature of his images and the dark, at times darkly humorous, quality of his subject matter. These are the qualities that render him one of the most notorious and groundbreaking filmmakers of his generation. The critically lauded ANIMAL LOVE was the winner of the Best Documentary Awards at the Potsdam Film Festival and the Toronto Film Festival.

Victor (Pedro Infante) is killed while trying to clear his name after being blackmailed by Eduardo, old associate. The police find Raul, a bread delivery man (also Infante) who looks just like Victor, so that they can use him as a decoy to catch Eduardo. Raul suddenly standing in for a movie star, finds himself involved in several comical cases of mistaken identity.
