Mixing horror with black comedy, DOPPELGANGER marks the sixth time director Kiyoshi Kurosawa and actor Koji Yakusho have worked together. Yakusho stars as mild-mannered scientist Hayasaki Michio, whose entire life is thrown into disarray when a man identical in appearance but opposite in personality enters his life. The main thought on Michio's mind, however, is an ancient tale that claims an encounter with a doppelganger signifies that death is imminent.
