Having exhibited a natural chemistry in NEEDING YOU, and LOVE ON A DIET, Sammi Cheng and Andy Lau pair up once again as a pair of kleptomaniac lovers who part ways when they learn that in order to sustain a relationship, people must share more than an addiction to stealing. The film finds Sammi and Andy crossing paths years later as Sammi is about to marry another man. Both are in a search of a valuable necklace, causing Sammi and Andy to realize they still have a lot in common. One of the most popular television shows of the 1980s, THE GOLDEN GIRLS was created by television writer Susan Harris (SOAP). The show centered on four elderly single women living in the same house together, all played by sitcom veterans: sensible Dorothy (Bea Arthur), sweet but stupid Rose (Betty White), lusty Blanche (Rue McClanahan), and Dorothy`s outspoken mother, Sophia (Estelle Getty). The program was nominated for many Emmy and Golden Globe awards, and was consistently in Nielsen`s top 10 for its entire run, garnering both critical acclaim and public popularity. It also proved daring for its time: not only did it tackle sensitive political issues, but it was a prime-time show whose main characters were much older than television`s desired demographic. Season four collects all 26 episodes from the program`s fourth year, and features guest stars such as Quentin Tarantino, Julio Iglesias, and Bob Hope.
