When a small plane crashes near the Mexican town of Zacatecas, local farmers are in for a surprise: the plane carries an illegal cargo, and when the pilot dies, it is up to them to dispose of the drugs. With his dying words the pilot explains that he was attempting to sell the drugs to raise money for his daughter's heart transplant, and the farmers, touched, decide to carry the operation through. They load the cargo into boxes made of cactus fruit called tunas, and head for California. Two men who pull off a robbery soon find themselves in opposite circumstances as one is imprisoned and the other successfully flees. The free man winds up on a deserted island where he meets the beautiful Erotica (Rebeca Silva), a dreamlike woman with whom he has a passionate affair. Their idyllic romance is soon interrupted by the other bandit, having escaped prison. He joins the couple on the island creating a confusing love triangle with fatal consequences.
